Works with latest build of Nlite (see note 1) and RVM Integrator (see note 2) on a untouched Windows 2000 SP4 source.

Integrated Windows optional components are installable/uninstallable from Windows Components Wizard.

(note 1) Only for Nlite users: 3 files from this addon are oddly recognized from Nlite as older compared to those contained on w2k CD and they are not updated. If you don't want to modify Nlite settings as Xable suggests here below (thanks to him), you must integrate this addon too, otherwise WU asks you for missing hotfix :

Also, don't remove in Nlite Remove Components task the components WMP and WMP 6.4 because they're needed and updated by Update Pack during install!

(note 2) Only for RVMi users: due to a RVM Integrator limitation, Win2k UpdatePack must be integrated with nothing else in the same integration session. You can integrate addons and everything else in a second RVMi run.

(note 3) Adobe Flash Player Control panel applet is no more working in win2k starting from v11.1.102.55.
The latest compatible one (dec. 2011) was v.10.3.183.5 that can be added by integrating in your source this small addon:

(note 4) Silverlight v4 is now included in UpdatePack. Windows 2000 is not listed in availables OSes for Silverlight 5. Anyway seems it works flawlessy. So if you want to give it a try, you can integrate this addon over your win2k source. NB it needs the presence of Onepiece's w2k updatepack, it can't be used alone:

I faced that with my calc plus addon. It happens because the newer files have a lower version number than the old one (crazy), so nLite is right to not overwrite them as they appear to be older files.

There`s two ways around it (well three if you count manually overwriting the files)

You could either enable advanced reports and choose to overwrite the files when the warning comes up during integration, or, pop this into the general section of the ini to force nLite to overwrite those files.

Using your addon above and manually copying over the three files after nLite has done its thing, I am having issues:

1) During the install, two popup messages about java files:

Java Package Manager

Unable to install Java packages from 
c:\winnt\java\classes\xmldso.cab

Class not registered

and same message again for file: dajava.cab

I am using nLite, and selecting some drivers, and removing files and customizing, but nothing should affect java stuff.

The second MAJOR problem, is that tcp/ip is not installed, or seriously corrupted. I've tried lots of ways of trying to rebuild tcp/ip, reinstall, and reinstall winsock, etc. If I install netbeui, I can see receive packets increment. When I remove it and only have tcp/ip, no packets are sent/received.

I'm attempting a clean install from win2k no sp's, and I'll report back.

Let me know if you figure out if these problems are created by the update pack you made.

I have confirmed my original w2k disk with the nLite mods and removals are fine, and that the update pack causes the java and tcp/ip issues.

Unfortunately Onepiece can't reproduce any TCP/IP error: no problem during setup and network works without any problem.
The pack contains hotfix KB917953 who updates tcpip.sys at version 5.0.2195.7087: do you use Nlite tcp/ip patching? If so, try without patching tcpip.sys: maybe Nlite doesn't support KB917953.
Anyway, waiting if anyone else reports this error

Since this update pack included KB918439, it also needs the AOL Art support to be included. I think it's just 5 additional files.

I did use nLite. I don't see anything relevent to tcp/ip, other than the settings below:

when doing an ipconfig, instead of it returning the ip and stuff, it just prints windows 2000 blah blah, but no IP stuff, even to say 0.0.0.0, or 169...

If I get a chance, I'll try again without removing the other netbios stuff.

Also, I don't think nLite has the option to patch tcp/ip file, but I might have seen settings for increasing simultaneous connections...

Hi, thanks for this excellent job, my niece will get a fully updated W2k on her old box.

However, while testing on a Virtual Machine WU gave me some updates... .Net, Root Certificate is clear... But also KB923191 and KB891861.
I tried to integrate them along with the Updatepack, KB923191 did just fine, KB891861, being a roll-up or something, seems to be partially included in the Pack, as a bunch of files where newer, but not all of them. And if i keep the newer files from the UpdatePack, WU still gives me the KB891861. Any Ideas on this? Your Updatepack seems to miss some hotfixes from this roll-up... or just newer/unofficial versions, that Windows doesn't recognize. Here's a list of the fixes included:

What are you guys using to integrate this?

I tried nlite and RVM Integrator, both gave me problems.

I get an error on kb932168.cat, which isn't included. I removed it from entries.ini, but I'm still running into trouble. I'm still working on it, so hopefully I can figure out the problem.

I'm getting a fatal error after removing the lines with the bad catalog.

It says, failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error, yada yada.

I figured it might be my source, but that installed fine on its own. After I tried adding the pack I get the error in the beginning of the GUI portion. Last I tried was RVM Integrator.

Anyone else try this thing?

I have just tested these two packs with nLite 1.4b, w2ksp4 source, only "hotfix integration and make iso" enabled and no errors. Installed in vmwareplayer and all is well.

Might I make a suggestion:

In the entries file where you use ExtraFileedits to search for SP4.CAT you are placing many other cats under sp4.cat. But... if someone was to integrate this updatepack twice (Not that they should) it would actually place all of the .cat files in there twice. One way you can get around this issue is to make a line in extrafile edits that searches for the sp4.cat and the extra cats (just in case it allready exists) and deletes it back to only sp4.cat. Then the next extrafileedits line can be the one to search for sp4.cat and place the cats back in.

Yeah give me a few mins and I'll post the entries for you.

Let onepeice know that I can make him some space on my hosting so that he can easily upload files to share.

I know how much work he has put into this UpdatePack. This is not a very easy updatepack to make. XP's updatepack is a lot of work... but Windows 2000 hasn't had a servicepack for even longer. So I am sure many people will appreciate his work.

I also think you should contact RyanVM and see if he can make a subforum for the UpdatePack so that you guys can easily share/support it.

I know I am interested in trying this updatepack. I haven't used win2k in a long time because of how outdated it is. So this will be nice to check out. I hope OnePeice will keep updating it. He may even be able to help take the load off for ryan with the XP UpdatePack.

OK... I don't have a Windows 2000 disk available right now to test this but I think there are actually 2 methods you can use to accomplish this. The first is using [ExtraFileedits] which is probably faster but not 100% effective. The reason it isn't 100% effective is because you never know if someone might manually edit their file and then your edit would not work correctly. But 99.9% of the time you won't have a problem. The other method would be using [EditFile] this method would have a 100% chance of working. Looks cleaner. But will be a little slower because it will process each line seperately instead of all at once. But I would probably reccommend this method if it works. Like I said I don't have a 2k disk right now so I can't test this theory. But here is what you need to put for the sp4.cat line. As for the wmpocm.inf,DefaultInstall.NT line I would leave it as ExtraFileEdits.

@siginet, Onepiece thanks you again. He says you can also give your name to his pack and modify it as you want.
He tested your two methods with Integrator 1.5b24 (because he thinks it's really better and more stable than 1.4.3) and Nlite.
Second method is better but Integrator breaks.
With first method Integrator works fine but when you install w2k you get the attached BSOD.
Again, first method works also with Nlite but it has the side effect of asking for 120 times when integrating "file not found" and you must press skip for every single file.

The problem with Integrator could be the driver.cab repacking: is it possible to disable that option?

OK, there wasn't no problem with Integrator: the bug was on the Update Pack side and now is fixed.

Only a small annoyance remains if you have used Integrator 1.5 for update pack integration: during file copy a "sp4.cab file not found" message appears, because Integrator removes it and the line from dosnet.inf but not from txtsetup.sif

I was wondering if you have any issues with svcpack stuff? Is the svcpack install methods compatable with w2k? The reason I ask is I noticed that the [ProductCatalogsToInstall] is not a part of svcpack in w2k... it is in a different file. Which means the integrator probably makes an uneeded svcpack.inf file in w2k. Which wouldn't cause an issue... but it is a small unneeded clutter isn't it? Just let me know if there is any major changes I need to make.

I remember Onepiece had some problems with 1.4.3 and w2k*. I don't know if they are solved.
So, better use 1.5 beta: now it's stable as 1.4

*EDIT: but only with italian version of w2k pack. So, if you prefer, you can use Integrator 1.4 too.

Hello, this is my first ever post so please be patient

I have an old Windows 2000 SP3 Pro CD that I am going to slipstream using n-lite, a copy of service pack 4 and the update from this site. I have previously done this with XP and the Ryan Post SP2 Updates.

Just a quick couple of questions:

1. Is it 'safe' to install hot fixes as well as critical updates even though Microsoft say they should only be installed on machines experiencing problems? I notice that there are some here (the ones in green).

2. If I include the OnePiece_Repair_Win2000_postSP4_Update_Pack_2.2.2_ENU.7z do I need to put this before the main file or doesn't the order matter? I know n-lite installs hotfixes and update packs in the order they appear.

1: thanks to experience gained with update pack I could say that request-only hotfixes aren't less safe than public one, rather sometimes I saw critical patches causing problems.

2: "repair" addon must be integrated after Update Pack, because those files are already in it but incorrectly Nlite recognizes them as older than the one existing in w2k CD and doesn't overwrite them

Does that mean I need to do two seperate runs with nLite?

I keep getting repeated errors with the pcmcia.sys file causing a BSOD stop error. Just completed a test with the new 1.4 version and wonder if it because I am using the addon pack and the repair pack at the same time.

Thanks for the release. I have used your update pack integrated with Siginet Build 27. My modem don't work if I used your update pack. I install Win 2000 on two different system with different hardware but get the same result. Also changed the modem drivers but get the same result. The modem Error is Error 797: The connection failed because the modem or other connecting device failed. Please make sure that the modem or other connecting device is installed. in both machines. I have used the Windows 2000 with SP4 integrated CD and the modem works fine on both systems.

Can u please have a look at this issue. Rest of the devices are working fine.

56K Modem. One system has Lucent WinModem and the other system has Rockwell 56K Modem detected as HSF Voice 56K Modem

@nonno fabio, i have some problems with update pack, after integrating lastest update pack on clear win2000 SP4 source, during installation i get security warning for digital signatures on some component from audio and video controllers.

After installing windows i run dxdiag and installed version is 7.0. Aslo i integrate RogueSpearAddonsRuntimes 2.7.7, and net framework 2.0 isn't installed. Did you have some site where i can find addons for win2000?

one more thing i tryed to run windows update, and i always get blank page?

Same here, dotnet 2 somehow not installed. Try changing link manually from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ to http://update.microsoft.com/ it works for me.
Tested also 7zip 4.57, Adobe 7.08 and Java 6.03 addons, all from RogueSpear are OK.

Shon3i, what did you use to integrate UpdatePack? Some popups about certificates can be possible but don't cause installation to fail

I suggest to integrate Win2kUpdatePack and DirectX 9 Addon in the same session: having found DX7, means that integration failed

about Dotnet 2, Ryan's one http://download.ryanvm.net/files/dotnet2.exe has been tested and works (it's a Switchless Installer and doesn't work form Svcpack)
